YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS AS TO PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED BY HIGHLINE PIPE

As a California resident, in addition to the rights that you have under Highline Pipe’s privacy policy, you have certain rights under California law as to your personal information that Highline Pipe has collected, uses, discloses and sells. HIGHLINE PIPE DOES NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. To the extent that any of these rights under California law are in conflict with or differ from the rights in the Highline Pipe privacy policy, these rights shall govern.

Right to Know About Personal Information Collected, Used, Disclosed or Sold. Upon Highline Pipe’s receipt of a verifiable request (see directions below), you have the right to request that Highline Pipe disclose the following upon Highline Pipe’s receipt of a verifiable request:

The specific pieces of personal information Highline Pipe has collected about you;
The categories of personal information that Highline Pipe has collected about you;
The categories of sources from which Highline Pipe has collected personal information about you;
Highline Pipe’s business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling personal information; and
The categories of third parties with whom Highline Pipe shares personal information.

Highline Pipe shall take steps to disclose and deliver your personal information to you, free of charge, either by mail or in an electronic format. If delivered electronically, the information shall be in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, in a readily useable format that allows you to transmit this information to another entity without hindrance. Highline Pipe is not required to provide your personal information to you more than twice in a 12-month period.

Right to Deletion of Personal Information Collected, Used, Disclosed or Sold. Upon Highline Pipe’s receipt of a verifiable request (see directions below), you have the right to request that Highline Pipe delete any personal information. There are a number of exceptions to this requirement. Highline Pipe may retain any your personal information if retention is necessary to: (1) complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected; (2) provide a good or service requested by the consumer or reasonably anticipated by the business relationship; (3) perform under a contract with the consumer; (4) detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity (or prosecute those responsible); (5) debug to identify and repair errors; (6) comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act; (7) use internally in ways aligned with the expectations of the consumer based on the consumer’s relationship with the business; (8) comply or fulfill a legal obligation; or (9) in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which the consumer who provided the information.

Right to Opt Out of Sale of Personal Information. HIGHLINE PIPE DOES NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. Nevertheless, you should know your rights under California law. You have the right, at any time, to direct a business that does sell your personal information to third parties to stop the sale of that information.

Right Not to Be Discriminated Against for Exercising Your Rights. California law prohibits a business from discriminating against you for exercising any of your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the rights above. The law provides a number of examples of what a business cannot do to you for exercising your rights:

Denying good or services;
Charging different prices or rates for goods and services, including through the use of discounts or other benefits or imposing penalties;
Providing a different level or quality of goods or services; or
Suggesting that you will receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.

These are just examples and other adverse actions taken against you for exercising your rights may be prohibited.

SUBMITTING A REQUEST

Before Highline Pipe can honor your request to delete or know your personal information, Highline Pipe must be able to verify that you are the person making the request. Therefore, we will need to get some information from you before we can process your request.

Ways to Submit a Verifiable Request.

Online Form. You may provide this information through an online form below.

 

Confirmation. Once Highline Pipe receives your information, we will send you a confirmation. That confirmation will provide you with information about how Highline Pipe will process your request and may ask you for additional information that you need to provide or actions that you will need to take. If you are (i) requesting to know specific pieces information, or (ii) requesting that we delete your personal information, you will need to provide Highline Pipe with a signed declaration, under penalty of perjury, that you are actually the person whose personal information is the subject of the request. Additionally, if you are requesting that Highline Pipe delete your personal information, then CA law requires that you separately (from your original submission) confirm that you want your personal information deleted before Highline Pipe deletes that information.

Requests Through Authorized Agents. You may make a request to know or a request to delete through an authorized agent. In order to make such a request, the agent must submit proof of your written permission to serve as your authorized agent and provide satisfactory verification of their own identity. This does not apply when you have provided the authorized agent with a power of attorney pursuant to Probate Code sections 4000 to 4465.
